In two days’ time, the Chinese people will be celebrating Chinese New Year. This is a time where families get together from near and far to celebrate this yearly and happy occasion.
The happiest group of people are the kids as they get to collect red packets aka ‘ang pow’ from parents, married couples, grandparents and seniors. Besides, they get to go shopping for Chinese New Year clothing as the chinese believe that wearing new clothing on a new year marks a new beginning!
This is also a time where people tend to overeat and overindulge on goodies and traditional foods. That causes sales of diet products like Leptovox to increase too! My favourite happens to be pineapple tarts and almond sugee cookies, not forgetting barbecued pork! As a kid, I used to go shopping with my parents the night before Chinese New Year reunion for fresh foods and fruits for the New Year.
