go shopping in tokyo, kyoto and osaka

December 1st, 2008

What can I say? I can hardly believe that Japan is officially in recession. Just watch the cash registers ringing in the departmental stores in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and you will agree with me.

The retail culture in Japan is crazy! You can go shopping in every corner in downtown tokyo, kyoto and osaka and you will be swamped by lots of shopping choices and options. The world of beauty, cosmetics and apparel is madness here! I can literally get giddy going shopping in these departmental stores… so much as that I find myself getting tired walking from floor to floor!

I tried getting into H&M earlier this evening but I wasn’t too comfortable with the Sunday crowd and long queues. The only two stores which I frequently pop in are UNIQLO and MUJI, they are affordable and basic, and have simple styles of my desire. But one thing I know, if you plan to go shopping Japan, you better be ready to increase your credit limit on your credit card or bring lots of cash - Japan shopping isn’t cheap at all… not by my standards at least!

go shopping for anti-hair loss shampoos

Image via Wikipedia

Lately, whenever I go shopping on the weekends, I’ll notice a huge increase of hair loss products being promoted in the mall. I guess with more people leading hectic lifestyles plus the sagging economy, the number of people losing their hair is increasing too!

In fact, there are hair shampoos specifically designed to increase the health of existing hair and to reduce the rate of hair loss in both men and women. There are several sources to investigate specific shampoos, research studies which can be accessed to determine the effectiveness of many of these products.

Aznil Ganti AC Mizal Sebagai Pengacara AF7?

November 18th, 2008

I have not been watching AF6 fully, but from the few episodes that I watched, I guess AC Mizal did have its own style and way of presenting the reality show. Overall, he is ok. But Akademi Fantasia 7 (AF7) is coming up soon. 2009 is not far off. But now, there are rumours about Aznil replacing AC Mizal for the seventh instalment of the show. Well I dare not speculate!

Another La Mer Product Review: The Hydration Infusion

October 26th, 2008

As if I haven’t had enough of La Mer beauty products but I was all excited when I received my invitation to collect my La Mer Hydration Infusion sample - I was delighted!

Being a devotee of La Mer for almost a year, I have to say that I am very well pleased with the range of La Mer products in my collection. Currently, I’m using the La Mer cleansing foam, La Mer radiant infusion, La Mer The Concentrate, La Mer lifting face serum, La Mer lifting intensifier, the Refining Facial, The Whitening Lotion and the Creme de la Mer, in cream and gel form.

The La Mer hydration infusion feels a little watery compared to the Radiant Infusion but slightly thicker than its whitening lotion. Packed with vitamins, minerals, tourmaline and Hydrating Ferments, the La Mer Hydration Infusion refreshes and revives a moisture deprived facial skin and preps the face before applying the creme de la mer. The La Mer hydration infusion is supposed to boost the transformational benefits of Crème de la Mer and fade fine lines and wrinkles after a period of faithful applications.

home entertainment for the family

Image via Wikipedia

These days, technology has raised the expectations and demands of entertainment seekers. Everyone wants a better sound system and bigger LCD TV for a complete home theater experience. Retailers are selling lifestyle with ultimate performance for sight and sound - there’s always something better, something newer each day.

Not only do people go shopping for high performance TVs, DVDs, sound systems and home theater equipment, the demand for satellite tv is growing in popularity too! Imagine the many hours of entertainment for the entire family during holidays and weekends if you decide not to go shopping. Though I’m not one who spend hours in front of the tv, I appreciate the fact that you can get up to 250 channels of entertainment at Dish Network, surfers can get up to 250 channel. Home entertainment can be affordable and enjoyable. Get a Free Quote on Dish Network!

go shopping for shoulder bags and more bags

October 26th, 2008

My hubby can never understand why women must have so many bags in their bag closet. No matter how many times I explain to him and how I try to make him understand, he just can’t understand! LOL!

I guess it’s all about image and picking the right image on the right occasion. When you go shopping for a carry all bag, you know that you wont’ be carrying that carry-all bag to a special dinner. When you go shopping for a Orla Kiely shoulder bag, you know it’s great for varied occasions including using the shoulder bag for travel or a weekend outing. Picking the right bags say alot about your image and your style. Having said that, we women do give ourselves many reasons to go shopping for more matching handbags for different occasions. It can be liberating, refreshing and inspiring… don’t you think so?

modern furniture with functionality in mind

September 11th, 2008

Where is the most important space in your house? I believe everyone has his own answer to this. For the SAHMs, your favourite space may be the kitchen and it’s the area where you would place the most emphasis when it comes to designing your new home.

For most people, the living room is the room in the house where most of the living takes place.  It’s where your family gathers to watch television, read, and generally unwind and relax after a busy day.  It may also be the room where you gather with friends and family during parties and holidays. As such, shopping for the right furniture that enhances your interiors and home personality is necessary to ensure a pleasant ambience to your living space.

re-engineered tees at fuchsia lane

September 11th, 2008

One of the places I wanted to drop by in my last trip to Singapore was Fuchsia Lane which is known for their range of feminine engineered tops designed by the bubbly entrepreneur, Vivienne Lin.

I first learned about Fuchsia Lane’s creations after a write out by the local newspapers. The exclusive asian inspired tees and accessories appealed to me right away as I am always looking out for unique Asian styles. I contacted Vivienne and was supposed to visit her boutique at the Red Dot Design Museum but due to my tight travel schedule, I had to take a rain check. The good news is, you don’t even need to live or be in Singapore to appreciate and own Vivienne’s range of hand-sewn re-engineered tees. Just drop by her blog at http://fuchsialane.blogspot.com/ and browse through her collections. Instructions to order can be found in her blog. Here’s one of my favourites:
