It was hard to stop myself from visiting the All Dressed Up store last weekend since it was having a storewide discount of 30%. Not so long ago, I spotted a coral peach top that flattered my autumn-spring skintone. I didn’t buy it since I wasn’t sure if I was going to pay around $300 for a blouse, especially after doing my monthly budget with our new budgeting software. But since it was on sale in the store, I couldn’t resist trying it again.

Guess what? Instead of the coral peach top, I walked out of the shop with a muted gold wax linen skirt. I fell in love with the colour… it was just the right shade of gold and made a versatile piece of any occasion - dress it up or down - it’s all up to me

Fashion and style can be quite a personal thing. Ever tried shopping with a friend to realize that your taste and opinions don’t match? In other words, not every good friend is a good shopping companion cos tastes differ!

I tend to shop alone except on certain occasions. Getting the opinion of a friend is helpful at times but sometimes, I much prefer to make my own decisions and take my time to do my shopping picks. Jewelry, shoes or bags, I like a unique touch to the designs and sometimes my friends can find my taste a little too artistic and liberated. These days, medical id tags have been worn as jewelry so it will be interesting if jewelry designers can catch on the trend and apply their creativity onto the design of these medical tags. And who knows, perhaps a medical tag can as attractive and creative like this paisley necklace, combined with lovely tiny faceted peridot rondelles. Simple and stylish, it can be a good balance between form and function.

My mailbox has been bombarded with lots of fashion styles for summer. Summer dresses and more summer dresses everywhere! It’s hard to resist these bright, cheerful, stylish and gorgeous dresses. Though sweet pink isn’t my colour, I can pick a muted or light spring green, yellow or orange - and yes, those are the colours for the autumn person. It seems to me that surfing with a laptop computer in Starbucks or a local cafe has become a lifestyle than a necessity. Somehow, having wi fi in cafes is almost a must if you want to compete or attract the new generation of teenagers, yuppies and even coffee drinkers. Just when you don’t think anyone is going to peep into your socks underneath your shoes, think again! I’m one fussy gal when it comes to socks. They can’t be too thick or too thin. I prefer nice prints or a nice material for my socks. Comfort is the name above style and usually, I’ll stick to those regular few that make my feet feel so comfy and nice. My hubby finds me strange when I shop for socks during our holiday trips. Unlike him who will pick up any kind of crew socks in a sale, I take a long time to find and shop for socks that feel nice and look good. What about you? Last week, we conducted a 2-day Image Asset Management workshop for women which saw an attendance of 14 women who came with eagerness to learn the art of managing their own bodies.

First impressions are apt to be permanent; it is therefore of importance that they should be favourable. The dress of an individual is that circumstance from which you first form your opinion of him.

Some image experts suggest that our dress should always be consistent with our age and our natural exterior. What looks good on one woman may look otherwise on another. We all all different. However ugly you may be, rest assured that there is always hope and not everyone is born with gorgeous features and body shape. With the right style, colours and dressing strategies, every woman can discover her hidden assets and talents and there is no need to marvel at another beautiful woman on the cover page.
