One of the places to shop when you are in Waikiki is the DFS store. However, you can only allowed to buy duty free goods if you are traveling out of US and this only applies to non-American products.
I just realized that it’s cheaper to shop in Hawaii than Los Angeles since the tax here is lower. This means, I should be doing all my shopping here as much as I can - lol! I do noticed that the Japanese tourists are into buying Maui Divers gold chain and Tahitian black pearls. They are truly beautiful but do come with a price. Besides, I’m not so much a pearl person. I may stock up a few La Mer items since I am contemplating on the whitening mask… so much for shopping indulgence!
To own a Channel suit Has been my lifes desire. I want to walk around in it And set some hearts on fire. I want to look expensive And ooze with style and flair. But I know I’ll never own one Coz life just isnt fair!

After a seven day cruise in the islands of Hawaii and sailing in the ocean, we are back on shore in Waikiki for another night before heading to LA for Christmas.
My, where do I begin? We had such a great time in the islands - Hilo, Kona, Maui and Kauai and honestly, all these islands don’t have shopping options like Waikiki or Honolulu but if you are looking for artistic and gifts with a difference, then the shops in the villages would be excellent, especially Kona, the Big Island.
Just when I thought Kauai is so quaint and limited in the shopping offers, I was told you could find Wal Mart and K Mart stores. For those of you who are familiar with these two big names, you know you can find practically anything in these stores from stereo cabinet to kids’ apparel to household items! But for me who is petite and little, I couldn’t find anything that fit me!
