Let me begin by defining the term ’scrubs’. I’m not referring to the soap Scrubs on TV but the shirts and trousers or gowns worn by surgeons, nurses, and other operating room personnel. Don’t think that these are just pale or dull coloured uniform you see on TV or movies but actually medical scrubs are pretty modern and trendy these days.

Just take a look at the dickies scrubs or the other scrubs at Scrubs and Beyond. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised at the attractive home page design of a website selling scrubs. The online store is colourful, very attractive and carries a contemporary flair. Just like the site design, the scrubs collection including cherokee medical scrubs, Katherine Heigl’s new collection and Barco metro scrubs offer stylish designs for both women and men. At first glance, I wouldn’t think that this Katherine Heigl Scrubs South beach sunrise print scrub top is actually worn by those in the operating theater. It looks like a nice top for a casual weekend or a relaxed shopping day!

I find myself thinking about the shirred gathered top I saw at Max Studio during my last trip to Singapore. I was already at the cashier, ready to check out when she told me that I should top up my purchase to S$250 to qualify for a VIP card. Then I didn’t know what happened but I decided to hold on to the item for a while. Perhaps I was afraid that I would end up with an impulse buy but looking back, it was a really nice top that was so ‘me’ - it was just my style. I love the frothy sleeves, layered look and the romantic textures created by artful shirring and gathering around the neckline and down the length of the billowy balloon sleeves. This dreamy piece is really versatile - great as a tunic length to match with leggings and skinny jeans, but it can be worn on its own as a chic springtime dress. Then again, one visit at the online store of Max Studio and I’m all tempted to add more tops and dresses for this season! Here’s another item that caught my eye at the store… this khaki shawl top is so versatile and natural, take a look at the cute sleeves.

The anteprima bags on display at The Paragon for this season is awesome. Created by Izumi Ogino, the Anteprima woman is one who appreciates timeless beauty and luxury. She is modern, sophisticated and contemporary. Anteprima bags and shoes need no introduction in Hollywood, Milan or the world of fashion. I find the beaded bags very pretty, attractive, feminine, fashionable but I’m not sure if I’m ready to pay for one. No, I haven’t stepped into an Anteprima shop but perhaps I should the next time I’m out for a shopping spree.
