Sometimes, it’s not always easy to go shopping for a unique birthday gift for someone senior in the home, is it?
Whenever it comes to buying a birthday gift for my mom, aunt, uncle or a senior friend, I would go shopping for hours and be back with nothing. It’s hard to buy clothing, just in case is not right for him or her. As usual, I prefer to shop for practical birthday gifts that are usable and of good quality. Some nice birthday gifts for seniors can include talking watches, daily living aids like mobility aids and even brain games!

I just came back from Singapore a few hours ago and this trip, I have been a good girl. I resisted any shopping sprees and only bought a re-engineered tee and a mineral blusher. I love to go shopping and sometimes impulse shopping can be a habit and I’m learning to overcome it.

The first time I saw her, the wow bit was really long. Asian-American sex symbol, Leah Dizon, (born September 24, 1986) is a supermodel, singer and Japanese television talent, born in Las Vegas, Nevada, US. Her astrological sign is Libra, and her Chinese zodiac sign is Tiger. Her blood includes those Chinese, Filipino and French (French-American mother and Chinese-Filipino father) descent which has contributed a lot to her exotic beauty. The 22-year-old surprised many by telling a packed news conference recently that she secretly married a man in Tokyo last week when she was already four months’ pregnant.

As if I haven’t had enough of La Mer beauty products but I was all excited when I received my invitation to collect my La Mer Hydration Infusion sample - I was delighted!
Being a devotee of La Mer for almost a year, I have to say that I am very well pleased with the range of La Mer products in my collection. Currently, I’m using the La Mer cleansing foam, La Mer radiant infusion, La Mer The Concentrate, La Mer lifting face serum, La Mer lifting intensifier, the Refining Facial, The Whitening Lotion and the Creme de la Mer, in cream and gel form.
The La Mer hydration infusion feels a little watery compared to the Radiant Infusion but slightly thicker than its whitening lotion. Packed with vitamins, minerals, tourmaline and Hydrating Ferments, the La Mer Hydration Infusion refreshes and revives a moisture deprived facial skin and preps the face before applying the creme de la mer. The La Mer hydration infusion is supposed to boost the transformational benefits of Crème de la Mer and fade fine lines and wrinkles after a period of faithful applications.

In less than a month’s time, we’ll be heading for our family vacation in Japan and Hong Kong. I’m very excited to snap picturesque shots of Tokyo, the countryside of Hakone, ancient Kyoto and Osaka. As for Hong Kong, I’ll be geared up for some retail therapy and going easy on my shopping spree. My hubby always reminds me that times are bad!
For the first time, I’m lugging my Nikon D80 overseas with my new 50mm lens. I’m hoping to go shopping for a compact flash for my trip but hopefully it doesn’t have to eat into my shopping budget! A compact flash will be great for low lighting days and shots that need a little more light. Besides the flash, I may go shopping for a zoom lens for landscape shots but that would mean another $500 at least for a 18mm - 200mm VR!

My hubby can never understand why women must have so many bags in their bag closet. No matter how many times I explain to him and how I try to make him understand, he just can’t understand! LOL!
I guess it’s all about image and picking the right image on the right occasion. When you go shopping for a carry all bag, you know that you wont’ be carrying that carry-all bag to a special dinner. When you go shopping for a Orla Kiely shoulder bag, you know it’s great for varied occasions including using the shoulder bag for travel or a weekend outing. Picking the right bags say alot about your image and your style. Having said that, we women do give ourselves many reasons to go shopping for more matching handbags for different occasions. It can be liberating, refreshing and inspiring… don’t you think so?

Hong Kong Cantopop singer and actress Kelly Chen recently married her long time boyfriend Alex Lau on 2 Oct, which ended a 16-year long-distance love. They held their wedding in the Intercontinental Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The pop princess’ wedding gown had a 30-foot trail. This, ladies and gentlemen, happened after more than ten years of starring in movies with many hot and sexy Chinese actors, half-Chinese half-Japanese actor (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and a hot full Japanese actor (Takenouchi Yutaka). It is on her 18th June 2008 “Love Fighters” concert, that Kelly announced that she will marry Alex Lau (劉建浩).

Take a look in the world of cosmetics and beauty and you will soon be overwhelmed with lots of make up and beauty products and options. But to go shopping for the ideal beauty products and best make up is individual and takes time and patience, and faith too.
For more than a year, I’ve been a faithful mineral makeup devotee and since, I have tried many different types of mineral makeup, from online mineral makeup to offline mineral makeup options. The one mineral makeup that I have yet to try is water mineral makeup. The most common promise of using mineral makeup is that it offers a light (doesn’t mean insufficient) coverage and natural finish on your face. Contrary to traditional facial foundation, it doesn’t exaggerate your wrinkles or make your skin dull and tired. Instead, mineral makeup offers a smooth and flawless finish to your face, minus the heavy weight feeling and cakey look. A good set of mineral makeup can allow you to get the right shade for your face and the best to achieve that is through a starter mineral makeup set.
