It looks like Britney Spears may be willing to pay a steep price to have her kids in her life, according to the News of the World.

Following Britney’s well-publicized meeting with ex-hubby Kevin Federline and his lawyers last week, a friend of the singer discussed Brit’s state of mind and her custodial tactics with the publication.

“She is a caring, devoted (mom), despite her crazy lifestyle,” Brit’s pal told the paper. “The kids mean the world to her. However, she has finally come to terms with the fact that the way things are heading, she is going to lose them. She is absolutely petrified at that thought — and she knows she will not win full custody. So she has decided to reach a compromise with Kevin where she will have (primary) custody.”
