I hope you are enjoying yourself this summer. For once, you may wanna take a break from your diet pills and enjoy a glass of wine and some gourmet with your buddies. Summer parties are not limited to beachwear, surf wear, sarongs and bright summer dresses. You too can look glam and sophisticated with glittery summer dresses! Like it or not, satin and silk finishes make eyes turn in a cocktail party. cutting edge of body jewelry

July 13th, 2008

There is a new growing trend among the new age executives and yuppies in the fashion world. Body accessorizing is becoming popular with more fashion conscious individuals making a statement with a nose ring, a belly ring and even cartilage ear piercing!

cutting edge of body jewelry

For me, body piercing or body jewelry is common since I used to teach in a design school with the most funky and fashionable teens. When done tastefully, a belly button ring or a nose ring can be an identity enhancement but when it’s gone overboard, it can turn people off. Just like our fashion tastes, everyone is entitled to be who you want to be as long as you are comfortable about it.

small things jewelry

March 13th, 2008

Here is another lovely website design featuring cute handcrafted jewelry. Small things jewelry is founded by Teresa Robinson and if you are that kind of love little details, Teresa’s hand-cut images will warm your heart and add that touch of charm to your style. With several selections to choose from, there are floral and fauna, bits and pieces and minimalist images on necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. Each piece of jewelry is so delicate and layered over stained glass to last you a lifetime. Once again, the website design complements Teresa’s cute collection. (http://www.smallthingsdesigns.com)

jewelry with a good purpose

Just when you think that a bracelet or necklace is just an item to complement your attire for an occasion or to enhance your appearance, this time, you are wrong. The Medical Alert Jewelry serves an important purpose that’s more than just a physical adornment. Wearing a necklace, locklet or bracelet with your personal medical ID information can actually mean life or death in emergencies and unfortunate circumstances. American Medical ID allows you to design your own necklace and customize it with several custom engraving options. What’s nice about the jewelry is that they are trendy, modern and stylish, which looks great when worn with your favourite apparel all year round.

handmade jewelry by peggy li

January 19th, 2008

“I enjoy designing handmade jewelry, making things that help women feel beautiful. When women feel beautiful, they feel powerful and have more confidence.”

Indie designer, Peggy Li, loves to create handmade jewelry designs that are deceptively simple, featuring artisan craftsmanship mixed with contemporary approaches to contrast, color, texture and composition. Being a lover of handmade jewelry and eclectic work, I am totally impressed by this piece of Jade Disk necklace. Green jade is traditionally a highly valued stone in chinese culture. Deep green with flecks of black matrix and slight inclusions, each smooth round jade pendant is unique. For something exotic and unique, this Malachite medallion pendant is a real jewel.

fair trade jewelry at its finest

I’ve always love to create a buzz for fair trade importers or members and one of my favourites is Lucina, who is known for bringing together the craftsmanship of artisans in developing countries and the talents of American designers to create indulgent jewelry. Founded in 2005, Lucina designers use these handcrafted materials, sourced through fair trade importers, to create beautiful accessories that carry beautiful stories of resiliency, hope, and opportunity from around the world.

contemporary jewelry by alex woo

October 17th, 2007

I stumbled upon Alex Woo’s jewelry by chance. As always, I will visit the website to learn more about the designer and to find out what she’s known for. I must admit that I’m enthralled by Alex’s simplicity and contemporary line of jewelry that can be worn just about any occasion - everyday use or a special occasion. Alex’s dad plays a big part in her artistic flair as a designer and jeweler. Her style is modern, elegant, clean and simple. Yet, the way a heart is crafted is unique by itself in her range of pendants, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings. I decide to pick out some of my favourites from her collection… check out this New Yorker’s creative flair by visiting alexwoo dot com or drop by her Manhattan showroom if you are around the area.
