have you tried mineral makeup for a natural, flawless finish?

October 26th, 2008

Take a look in the world of cosmetics and beauty and you will soon be overwhelmed with lots of make up and beauty products and options. But to go shopping for the ideal beauty products and best make up is individual and takes time and patience, and faith too.

For more than a year, I’ve been a faithful mineral makeup devotee and since, I have tried many different types of mineral makeup, from online mineral makeup to offline mineral makeup options. The one mineral makeup that I have yet to try is water mineral makeup. The most common promise of using mineral makeup is that it offers a light (doesn’t mean insufficient) coverage and natural finish on your face. Contrary to traditional facial foundation, it doesn’t exaggerate your wrinkles or make your skin dull and tired. Instead, mineral makeup offers a smooth and flawless finish to your face, minus the heavy weight feeling and cakey look. A good set of mineral makeup can allow you to get the right shade for your face and the best to achieve that is through a starter mineral makeup set.

try Purity mineral makeup starter kit for FREE!

For more than a year, I have been a mineral makeup devotee. Many of my friends are still very new to mineral makeup and would ask me why I choose mineral makeup over branded traditional foundation and powders.

They seem very skeptical since mineral makeup tend to cost lesser than many branded foundation and cosmetics. I often mention about how mineral makeup helps to prevent clogging of pores and provide a natural and even coverage. Many of them like Purity Mineral makeup contains no oil, synthetic perfumes, chemical preservatives, talc or dyes. Women with acne, eczema, sensitive and rosacea-prone skin find the natural anti-inflammatory properties helpful for their skin. Besides, good quality mineral makeup mixes with the natural oils of the skin, giving a perfect natural looking complexion.

natural beauty with elemental beauty mineral makeup

I was captured by the touch of femininity of the rose icon on Elemental Beauty mineral makeup packaging when I first saw the website. Unlike most of the mineral makeup which usually comes in plastic sifter jars, Elemental Beauty uses glass jars for its range of mineral makeup.

For the last three weeks, I have been trying out Elemental Beauty’s soft focus mineral foundation. Nicola was gracious to send me two shades which she thought were best for my skin tone. I must commend her for the wise selection as I could mix both to get the right shade for my slightly tanned skin. Cinnamon is a lovely warm toned foundation which works perfectly well for me. In fact, it evens out my skin tone and gives my face a natural tan! Surprisingly, Sunshine, a warm, neutral/yellow tone which brightens up my skin even though it is meant for fair skin. I did a little experimentation and mixed both together and ended up with the PERFECT shade for my face - now I know why Nicola sent me two shades!

my review on Lumiere mineral makeup

September 13th, 2007

My Lumiere mineral make up arrived last weekend. You should witness the gleam in my eyes… I was so eager to try them on! While I was still a newbie in mineral make up, I was careful to follow the Swirl, Tap, Buff rules. What I got in my surprise package were samples of a light warm Luminesse, a medium beige flawless foundation, a light med warm Veena Velvet, a flushed mineral blush, a hypnotic glitz and a spice rum Lumi lips.
